Stress is Good

Stress is a huge thing for most of us … Whether you are a single mother/father, working a 9-to-5, running your own business or all of these combined.

As you know I have recently gone live with my new website!  I hope you are all enjoying thus far …

My photography keeps me busy on most days and who can ask for anything better than doing what you love? Running your own small business without any employees can be quite challenging, as I have come to realize, and surprisingly it is still amazing each and every day.

With any endeavour you are bound to hit some bumps in the road, but I take them as a learning tool.  Overcoming all of these ‘bumps’ has stacked up to become a mountain, and it is safe to say I have conquered it so far!

Here are some techniques that I have used to help me overcome my stressful days and climb to the top of each mountain that was put into  my path …

FIRST...

Close your eyes and take deep breaths in-and-out. Breath in through your nose and out through your mouth: This helps me re-focus and realize I can accomplish ANYTHING (one step at a time).

SECOND...

Stand-up walk around the house or around the yard. Fresh air and blood flow can change a persons mood almost instantaneously. I also add in my breathing technique as well.

LASTLY...

Take time for personal projects. This step is crucial to my sanity … I am a busy-bee and always have to be doing something! It has taken me years to understand that it is okay to take time for myself, whether it be projects, personal editing, family time or watching a television show.

Without this personal time and taking care of myself I would be of no use to my family, clients or business. Work will always be there tomorrow no matter how stressed you become.  So, take the time, make the time and watch what happens.
